movement & meditation

Are you bored by traditional strength training? Does yoga not work for your body?

Not everyone wants to move, meditate or exercise the same way, or in a traditional setting, such as a gym or yoga class.

The movement and meditation experiences I facilitate utilize a wide range of techniques from martial arts, improvisational dance, earth-based ritual and functional strength training. My classes will strengthen and rehabilitate your body in a fun, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.

I offer custom experiences that merge techniques. Sessions can be multiple hours, at your request.

Ground into the earth, achieve stillness. Discharge, activate your power, and explore the pleasure of moving in new ways.

Daoist Qi Gong

Qi Gong in the Five Immortals Temple tradition.

For individuals or groups, at your home, wellness center or in nature.

Qi Gong is an ancient physical and energetic practice of activating the body’s energy centers to move vital chi (life force) through the body, increasing vibrance and longevity.

Qi Gong brings the practitioner closer to union with cosmological forces of earth and heaven, the elements, and the inner self.

The Qi Gong that I teach and practice originates from Five Immortals Temple in China, from a long line of masters and disciples. I am fortunate to have received this transmission.

Elemental Embodiment

Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and authentic expression.

For individuals or groups, and in retreats and workshops, in nature.

Elemental Embodiment with Mac Murphy

A method that I pioneered, Elemental Embodiment is a spiritual physical practice of connecting the self with the vital power of the elements.

I facilitate an embodied experience utilizing Qi Gong, Tai Chi, improvisational movement, primal expression, and standing meditation in a ritualized, safe container.

May we grow as wood, burn as fire, ground in as earth, cut through like metal and flow like water, as we participate in this ceremony that we call life.

To be wild is not to be crazy or psychotic. True wildness is a love of nature, a delight in silence, a voice free to say spontaneous things, and an exuberant curiosity in the face of the unknown.
